All calm on top but underneath I’m paddling like mad trying to stay on top of things LOL. It’s been such a full on week … on Tuesday I taught my very first patchwork class!!! I was so excited and I thoroughly enjoyed myself, I’d love to do it again :o). This is the tablerunner I taught … it’s quilt-as-you-go!! Now normally I wouldn’t do something this size quilt-as-you-go but for the purpose of the lesson I wanted something that the ladies could almost finish by the end of the class – which most of them did :o).
Bear (DD2) also had her formal on Tuesday night - and even if I say it myself, she looked just beautiful … wanna see???!!
That’s Luke with her … he was her date for the formal but he’s just a friend. They went in this fabulous old Monaro … Here she is with her boyfriend Blake once they arrived at the venue, aren’t they a gawjus couple :o) … They had a wonderful time, and graduation day was great too, I can’t believe her school days are over **sigh**. But now it’s nail-biting time for me while I wait for them to come home from ‘schoolies’ down the Gold Coast. They’ll be back on Tuesday … and not a minute too soon for me!!!
I have managed a bit of stitching this week too … this disappearing 9 patch table runner is a Christmas gift for a friend … This isn’t a verygood piccy … the colours are much prettier in the flesh ;o). They’re Moda “Shades of Blue”. I’ve also been making something else – but I can only give you a sneaky peek … Pop into the Among the Gumtrees blog on Monday and you’ll be able to see what I’ve been up to ………… cos it’s my turn to bring you the last Christmas Freebie!!! I hope you’ve enjoyed all the fabulous designs we’ve brought to you on the ATG blog over the past few weeks, cos we just LOVE to give them to you :o)!!!
Have a fabulous weekend everyone!!!!!

Mine arrived this week … awwwww, pretty :o)!!! Dressed in pink …… of course ;o)!! I think there are still a few left – if you can’t resist either lol. You can find them here.
I need to go and write up some patterns so I guess I won’t be using her today.

I’ve finally had a chance to do a bit of stitching with my gawjus new sewing machine [that’s Rosie to those of you who may not know ;o)]. I have to say she’s an absolute delight to sew on and the quilting …. so smooth and easy. I definitely love her :o). Here’s a simple disappearing 9 patch table runner I made so that I could have a play with the free motion quilting on Rosie … here’s the quilting …
it’s very different to my old machine (6500P) and a dream to use!! I’ve also made some covered notebooks to be sold on a Christmas stall at the retirement home that my dear friend Valerie volunteers at … These are so easy to whip up and I think they look so much nicer than the plain cardboard covers. I’ve also made some cute little Christmas tree decorations …
I’m going to try and get some more stitching today but before I go I thought you might like to see some of the lovely stitchy gifts I got for my birthday from some of my very special freinds …
And also this lovely gift made for me by Teresa to remind me of the fabulous holiday we just had with my gawjus DD2 and her partner Luke waaaay over on the other side of the world :o). It not only looks just beautiful but it also smells simply divine ….. Mmmm lovely lavender!! Thank you so much Teresa … I absolutely LOVE it!!!
I’m off to play with Rosie again …………
